I completed the two week intensive course for learning to speak Thai with teacher Jom. It was a great experience and I wish I had done it earlier, since it opens up a lot more opportunities for speaking and practicing Thai. In just two weeks I learned to hold basic conversations with people about common subjects like food, work, navigation, etc and it was useful from the first day. And learning how to ask about the language (translations and meaning) is great since now I’m always learning new words and phrases from people. Jom is a great teacher and really focuses on pronunciation which can be really tricky for non native speakers. His repetition method is intense and effective, I really liked that style of teaching. It’s like being trained by a sports coach. And now when I learn a new word I repeat it over and over until my Thai friends get annoyed hah. But it’s nice being able to pronounce things decently enough so people don’t laugh at you (most of the time). I highly recommend this school and the intensive course with Jom.
